New Room

My birthday month has arrived and with it a new heat wave. Lovely. Anyway, it's the first of the month, and that means I've got a new room for you. And we're finally at the last fruit dress!

This month's room.
The last fruit dress! It's based on a dragonfruit and it's probably my favorite of the bunch.
Of course I've also given Luna a new look for the month.
Since it's my birthday month, I based the outfit around the cancer shirt, the ruby necklace, and the waterlily hairclip. My sign, my birthstone, and my birth flower!
I wasn't sure that the shirt/necklace combo would work, but I think I managed to pull it off.

Well, that's all for now! The heat really kills my productivity (and makes me not want to be anywhere near my computer) but I'll try to get my next post up as soon as possible.

  1. That dress looks just like a dragon fruit! You are so amazing at designing dresses.

It seems a lot of places are having heatwaves at the moment. I'll swap you for the freezing winter weather here!

    1. Awww, thank you! I'm really proud of this one myself :)

Hah! I'd love to trade. I'm not the biggest fan of the cold either, but I really don't deal well with the heat. Thankfully, it is actually a bit cooler today than it has been the last few. I'm taking advantage of that to try and be productive today.

An amusing anecdote- I've set up camp in the living room today because it's cooler out here than it is in my room. Plus it's actually unoccupied for once. I never hang out out here, though, so I've confused the crap out of Ben. He keeps coming out, looking around all confused, and then meowing at me like "What are you doing? This isn't where you're supposed to be!" It's pretty funny.

    2. Ahaha, Chloe just realized I'm out here, and now she's confused too! I love messing with my cats, even when I'm not trying to :P

    3. I've been seeing in the international news that it's quite hot in the northern hemisphere but then I see it's only like 34 degrees! That's nothing compared to our summer where it's like 43 degrees for multiple days.

Haha pets are like that, they get confused if you mess with their routine. I used to have a dog that hated when we moved furniture around in the house.

    4. Well, I've only ever lived here, and it's cold here for most of the year, so I'm not really used to anything but cold weather ^_^' if I ever visit Australia, I'll make sure I do it during the colder months!

That's true, haha. If I stay up later than usual Ben starts trying to herd me to bed. He's doing it right now, actually :P

    5. Yeah if you're used to the cold, then the heat would be a surprise. I do find the summers a lot hotter here than when I was younger, but I think that's more to do with climate change and such.

If you ever do visit Australia, it is best to come in Spring or Autumn because the weather is much nicer. We have lots of festivals and tourist attractions depending on which city you visit, so there's plenty to do. I've noticed most international tourists do the typical things like wildlife parks (meet a koala), wine tours and the theme parks if it's the Gold Coast.

    6. Don't mind me, just replying to month old comments >.>;

Yeah, it's all about what your body is used to. Though it's been abnormally hot this year anyway. Probably just making up for us having a really mild summer last year, haha.

Yeah, if I were going to visit Australia it'd definitely be in the fall or winter. Probably fall. And yes, wildlife parks! The first thing I do when I travel anywhere is look into zoos and wildlife parks, haha. I don't have much interest in most other tourist attractions, but I'm always interested in animals :P

    7. Haha don't worry about replying late :)

I guess if the area you live in isn't used to heatwaves, it's quite bad. The heatwaves overseas have been pretty bad though, our Australian ones never go that long. Probably the longest I remember was like 2 weeks of temperatures over 40C (104F). That was pretty bad as the public transport couldn't work but at least you could go to the beach at midnight and it was still warm.

Spring is a good time to visit as a lot of animals have their cute babies with them. I went to the outback last November and there was adorable Emu babies everywhere. I've been to quite a few zoos around the country. Featherdale in Sydney is good as is the Melbourne Zoo. The one in my city is a bit boring, went recently and its nowhere as good as when I was a kid. We have a lot of Wildlife parks here, but I just never have time to visit them.
