Brand Highlight: Soy

Today's brand is Soy. It's been featured in every game so far, though it was called 'Terra' in the first game and 'Soy Milk' in the second. Soy's style is 'boho-chic' and the brand specializes in earthy colors and relaxed, loose-fitting clothing.

Soy is possibly my least favorite brand and it has a pretty small stock in comparison to a lot of the others, so this one was...interesting.

New Room

I definitely didn't almost forget to post this >.>; anyway, it's the first of the month, so that means I've swapped out my Caprice Chalet room, and since it's december, I've brought back my Christmas-themed one.

Palette Swap Challenge Part One

Flowers, Moons & Stars, Oh My!

So Purple Moon has these new hairclips in Styling Star. They're specifically designed for Rosie, Yolanda, and Alina, and are based around their motifs. Since they wear them for a performance, the hairclips need to fall under both styles for each character. It's fine for Yolanda's, but Rosie's and Alina's...don't exactly scream rock or goth. I've been meaning to try and make that work for a while and I finally got around to it. So let's get started!

It's the first day of a new month, so as always I've got a new room for you. I also updated my Shopdo today, for those who are interested.

30 Day Cosplay Challenge Part One

It's about time.

So those of you who follow my tumblr will know that I actually did this challenge back in july. I intended to post it here back then, but well...that didn't happen. So I said fuck it, I'll just wait and post it in october as a Halloween thing. It actually worked out, because I originally wanted to do a second run of the challenge in october, but by the time I'd finished the first one I was pretty burnt out. Plus I'm not sure I would've had the time to do it, anyway.

Enough wasting time, though. Let's get to it!

Dream Address

I've finally had the time to get back to Animal Crossing and get the Dream Suit finished, so here's my dream address finally.
                                 

Don't expect too much, my town's just a big mess of trees and flowers. It's not even a town, really, it's more of a forest. A very small forest. And no, I'm not ever going to remove the groucho glasses.

My original plan for this post was to also show you around my town (and houses), but...eh. You'll just have to come see it for yourself if you want to. I definitely will do some town tours at some point though, but not today.

Oh, also, Shampoodle just opened up and I gave Levy and Kiki some new 'dos.

                                                

...of course, with a hat on, this style looks exactly the same as the default one. I really just wanted to change the color anyway, so it works out.

Kiki has reached a new level of adorable.

Brand Highlight: Marzipan Sky

Time for another Brand Highlight!

Today's brand is Marzipan Sky. This brand debuted in Trendsetters (though there was a somewhat similar brand in the first game called Epoque) and has kept the same name in every appearance. Marzipan Sky's style is 'girly' and the brand specializes in clothes that are feminine and cute. If you wanna look sweet and adorable, but not quite like a princess, then Marzipan Sky is the brand for you.

Bunny Update

It's now been about two weeks since I got Mr. Cuddles, so I figured I'd post a quick bunny update.

General Update

Hey guys! Sorry that I've been doing such a bad job with keeping up with the blog this month. I'll try and do better next month, but honestly, I've been having a hard time keeping up for a while. I'll keep trying my best, but I guess I've finally reached the point where I have to accept that I'm not going to post as often as I'd like to :/ with that said, though, I've found that posting on tumblr is generally quicker and easier, so if you'd like to see me post more frequently, you should follow me over there. It's time for the weekly Shopdo update now, right? Well, not quite.

Brand Highlight: Streetflow

Time for another one of these.

Today's brand is Streetflow. Streetflow's style is 'sporty' and it specializes in practical and athletic clothes. The brand was called GXS in the first game before becoming Zip Line in the second, and then switching again to Streetflow in the third. Unfortunately, in the fourth game Streetflow and the sporty style were taken out. Thankfully, all (or at least most) of the clothes are still around, they've just been moved to different brands.

The sporty style has never exactly been my favorite, but I do miss it, and putting together the outfits for this post has given me a new appreciation for the style. So without further ado, let's get started!

Style Imitation Challenge

Hey guys! My internet's been down for the last week thanks to a thunderstorm. It finally came back yesterday, though, so it's time for a challenge and a Shopdo update.

Sorry that this is a couple of days late. I thought my technical difficulties were over, but apparently that was just the first wave...anyway, let's just get to it.

Two New Challenges + Shopdo Update

It’s been a while since my first challenge, so I figured it’s about time to put out another one…or two, as it were. So here they are!

I’m calling the first one the ‘Style Imitation Challenge’. It’s kind of similar to the Off-Brand Challenge. Basically, the idea is to use one style to imitate another. For example, using feminine clothes to make a “preppy” outfit. A bonus optional rule for this one is that the items you use can’t fall under the style you’re trying to imitate. I thought that was too much of a pain to bother with myself, but I thought some people might appreciate the extra challenge.

Oh! Also, you can use whichever game you want for this, but you can only do styles that exist in the game you’re using. So if you want to do an imitation-flirty outfit, you have to use Trendsetters, and if you want to do an imitation-sporty outfit you have to use either Trendsetters or Fashion Forward.

The second one is the ‘Palette Swap Challenge’. The idea behind this one is to put together an outfit and then see how many palette swaps you can make for it. That is, use the same items, but in different colors. Simple enough, I think. Bonus rule for this one is to also palette swap your hair!

Brand Highlight: Marble Lily

I'm trying to make up for lost time with these, so here's another brand highlight!

Today's brand is Marble Lily. Marble Lily is a brand that's been around since the beginning and has retained its name through each game. Marble Lily's style is 'babydoll' ('princess' in Trendsetters) and it focuses on clothes that are frilly and sweet, with the intention of making you look and feel like a real life princess. Marble Lily is a sister brand of sorts to Raven Candle, and much like Raven Candle, it's clothes are based on the lolita style, particularly sweet lolita.

Since it's one of my favorite brands, I went kind of overboard with this one, so let's just get started!

Brand Highlight: Basic U

It's finally back! I haven't done one of these in forever, and I've been meaning to get back to it. And now I finally have!

So, today's brand is Basic U. As one of the cornerstones of fashion, Basic U is a brand that has featured in every game so far, though it was called Pure Cloth in the first game and Uber Cloth in the second. The brand's image is 'basic' and it specializes in clothes that are simple and clean versatile. Perhaps not the most interesting brand on its own, but it mixes really well with all of the others. 

Of course, it's not like you can't put together nice looks with just Basic U, as I'm about to show you. So let's get started!

A new month means a new room, and now that we're finally done with the fruit dresses, we can move on to something else. So here's my favorite room! It's a cat cafe :3
                         

The name is a reference to Tsubasa Chronicles. Though I believe the name in that series was a reference to a different series...so it's a reference to a reference. Referenception.

New Room

My birthday month has arrived and with it a new heat wave. Lovely. Anyway, it's the first of the month, and that means I've got a new room for you. And we're finally at the last fruit dress!

The last fruit dress! It's based on a dragonfruit and it's probably my favorite of the bunch.

Of course I've also given Luna a new look for the month.

Since it's my birthday month, I based the outfit around the cancer shirt, the ruby necklace, and the waterlily hairclip. My sign, my birthstone, and my birth flower!

I wasn't sure that the shirt/necklace combo would work, but I think I managed to pull it off.

Well, that's all for now! The heat really kills my productivity (and makes me not want to be anywhere near my computer) but I'll try to get my next post up as soon as possible.
